AEI3234 - Agricultural biology 1 is a compulsory two credit course at level three offer in Diploma in Industrial Studies study Programme. The course will give you knowledge on fundamental theories and basic knowledge on plant biology. The knowledge you gain through this course will open the path to explore the many other subjects matters in the courses you follow at level 4, 5 and 6.
This course will explore the principles of molecular biology and Plant tissue culture and their application in biotechnology. And also gives you a brief description about the different areas of biotechnology such as: medical, Pharmaceutical, agricultural,environmental and industrial applications.

This course has three units.
The first unit explains the principles and techniques behind the modern agricultural biotechnology.
The second unit will detail the different applications of biotechnology and
finally unit three will explain the principles behind the plant tissue culture and its applications in plant improvement.

Fruit Crops and Cut Flower Production (AEI6138) is a level six optional course offered by the Department of Agricultural and Plantation Engineering.
